Gitex expands to Vietnam

Gitex will make its debut in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 1 and 2, 2026. The event was officially announced during Gitex Asia x AI Everything Singapore.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and KAOUN International in partnership with Vietnam’s National Innovation Center, with support from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Gitex Vietnam will anchor the nation’s National Innovation Week, bringing together global tech giants, investors, startups, and policymakers in Hanoi to explore cutting-edge trends such as AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, Industry 5.0, and talent acceleration.

Vietnam’s digital economy is the fastest-growing in Southeast Asia, growing more than 20 percent annually and projected to reach up to US$200 billion by 2030. The country’s information and communication technology sector, valued at more than US$165 billion in 2024, is attracting major foreign investment and driving innovation across industries.

Vietnam’s government has made digital transformation a national priority, with ambitious targets to become a regional leader in IT, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure by 2030.

“Gitex shall spotlight and amplify the accomplishments, forward policies, talents, developing infrastructure, and growing aspirations of a steadfast and ambitious young economy to the rest of the world. This shall unleash a surge of new business collaborative opportunities between government and private sectors across the world,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International.

“With its legacy of bridging digital divides and shaping global tech narratives, Gitex’s expansion into Vietnam will undoubtedly serve as a powerful catalyst for socio-economic advancement at local, regional, and international levels,” said Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, Deputy Director of Vietnam National Innovation Center.

The Gitex expansion comes amid deepening economic ties between Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates, including recent talks on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement. The event is expected to catalyse cross-border collaborations, accelerate digital investment, and reinforce Vietnam’s status as a vital link in the global innovation ecosystem.
