Proofpoint has opened in Singapore a new office in Singapore office that houses engineering, sales, marketing, HR, and a dedicated AI research and development (R&D) team.
Singapore’s reputation as a global technology and innovation hub made it the natural choice for Proofpoint’s expanded regional headquarters.
Proofpoint’s Singapore-based AI R&D team of more than 20 specialists in AI, software engineering, big data, and cybersecurity will focus on developing next-generation, human-centric security solutions. These platforms aim to tackle the scale and complexity of modern threats by enhancing threat detection, user behaviour analytics, and data protection.
“AI is the core of modern cybersecurity. Proofpoint has been at the forefront of enabling protection with AI while keeping humans at the centre,” said Sumit Dhawan, CEO of Proofpoint.
Proofpoint’s recent milestones in Singapore include the acquisition of local AI start-up Dathena in 2022 and the launch of a dedicated Singapore data centre. The company is also partnering with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore’s SG Cyber Safe programme to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
