Technology and digital transformation key in ADPIC’s 5-year roadmap

Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has unveiled an ambitious five-year roadmap (2025–2029) to transform the Emirate’s infrastructure landscape, with technology and digital transformation as central pillars of the strategy.

Speaking at the launch, H.E. Eng. Maysarah Mahmoud Eid (below), Director-General of ADPIC, highlighted the key role of technology in the centre’s vision.

A major initiative is the development of a unified digital platform that will serve as a single source of truth for all stakeholders in Abu Dhabi’s construction and infrastructure sectors. Currently under development, this platform will integrate artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline project planning, execution and oversight.

It will connect consultants, contractors, developers, government entities, and regulators for seamless collaboration and real-time data sharing.

“It’s a data-driven platform, one single source of truth for everybody. Such tools will enable data-driven decision making, allowing us to de-risk challenges or risks contractually or on the construction and design side before moving forward,” said Maysarah.

The platform’s AI capabilities will support needs assessment, early warnings for project risks, and efficient contract management, ultimately improving transparency and operational efficiency across thousands of users involved in more than 600 projects.

Driving efficiency and sustainability

ADPIC’s roadmap incorporates advanced technologies such as building information modeling (BIM) and AI-driven analytics. These tools will be used to:

  • Identify and address project needs based on demographic and real-time data
  • Detect early warnings related to constructability and unforeseen events
  • Enable project managers and decision-makers to access actionable insights without sifting through extensive documentation

By 2026, the centre is currently developing and plans to launch a Centralised Government Authorities Platform to further enhance coordination between agencies and streamline stakeholder communication.

The use of modular construction and digital platforms will also support ADPIC’s sustainability targets, including adherence to Abu Dhabi’s 2050 Net-Zero Policy and reducing material waste.

A future-ready Abu Dhabi

ADPIC’s five-year plan includes the establishment of a dedicated research and development hub focused on infrastructure innovation, digital transformation and the adoption of new materials such as green cement. It is also investing in workforce development through internship programmes and a specialised curriculum for capital project management to equip the next generation to leverage these technological advancements.

With its new roadmap, ADPIC is positioning Abu Dhabi as a model for sustainable, technology-driven infrastructure development. The integration of AI and digital platforms is set to enhance liveability, foster economic growth, and attract global investment.

“This roadmap is a bold step toward shaping Abu Dhabi’s future. It reflects our proactive approach to infrastructure development, focusing on innovation, sustainability and strategic collaboration. We are designing infrastructure that not only supports economic progress but also improves daily life for residents, while attracting global investment and expertise,” said Maysarah.
