Colorful Technology has launched the Smart 900 AI Mini PC to accelerate AI-driven content creation for students and professionals.
The compact powerful device arrives as the global AI PC market experiences rapid expansion, with industry forecasts predicting that AI-enabled computers will soon dominate personal computing.
The Smart 900 AI Mini PC is powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor that features 16 cores and 32 threads, a turbo frequency of up to 5.1 GHz, and 80MB cache. Based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, its integrated Radeon 8060S graphics deliver GPU performance on par with discrete mobile GPUs. A dedicated 50 TOPS neural processing unit (NPU) provides robust acceleration for machine learning and generative AI workloads.
Encased in a sleek, precision-machined aluminum chassis with a premium anodised finish, the device boasts a compact four-litre form factor. It offers connectivity such as multiple USB 3.2 Gen2 and USB 4.0 ports, as well as a high-speed SD 4.0 card slot for seamless transfer of high-resolution images and videos.
The debut of the Smart 900 comes amid a period of exponential growth for the AI PC market. According to Gartner, AI PCs are expected to account for 43 percent of all PC shipments by 2025, up from just 17 percent in 2024. Global shipments of AI PCs are projected to reach 114 million units in 2025, a marked increase from 43 million in 2024. This surge is driven by the integration of AI capabilities into both desktops and laptops, with major PC makers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung all introducing their versions of AI-powered devices.
The Asia-Pacific region is playing a leading role in this transformation, capturing more than 36 percent of the global AI PC market and generating US$12.3 billion in revenue in 2023. The market is expected to continue its robust growth, with AI PCs becoming essential for a wide range of applications, including content creation, gaming and professional AI research.
