NVIDIA has unveiled Spectrum-XGS Ethernet that allows multiple data centres spread across different cities or even continents to operate together as a single unified AI super-factory.
With the rapid growth of AI, many enterprises are reaching the limits of what one data centre can handle. Spectrum-XGS Ethernet enables companies to link their data centres across large distances, forming a seamless, high-performance network that handles the vast demands of modern AI development.
“The AI industrial revolution is here, and giant-scale AI factories are the essential infrastructure. With NVIDIA Spectrum-XGS Ethernet, we add scale-across to scale-up and scale-out capabilities to link data centres across cities, nations and continents into vast, giga-scale AI super-factories,” said Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
Multiple facilities can work in unison as one powerful AI operation, with nearly double the performance compared to typical networking equipment.
The technology automatically adjusts to the distance between locations, managing delays and network congestion to ensure smooth performance.
Hyperscalers such as CoreWeave are already using Spectrum-XGS Ethernet to empower customers with access to massive AI infrastructure, which is expected to accelerate innovation across various industries.
Available now, Spectrum-XGS Ethernet provides enterprises with a clear path to build the dependable, scalable infrastructure needed for tomorrow’s AI opportunities.
