Sony Xperia 10 VII sports bold new design

Sony has launched the Xperia 10 VII mid-range smartphone series with enhanced camera capabilities, extended software support and a refreshed aesthetic inspired by modern design trends.

The smartphone introduces practical upgrades for improved user experience, especially for photography enthusiasts and long-term device users.

Redesigned look: The Xperia 10 VII features a bold new design, departing from Sony’s traditional vertical camera layout in favour of a horizontal “camera bar” reminiscent of Google’s Pixel series. The modernised look is paired with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth scrolling and vibrant visuals with 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the device maintains IP65/68 water and dust resistance for added durability.

Enhanced camera: The device has a dedicated physical shutter button on the side frame that lets users instantly launch the camera and take photos even when the screen is locked. The dual rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.56-inch Exmor RS sensor (f/1.9, 24mm), which is 1.6 times larger than its predecessor, significantly improving low-light performance. The secondary 13 MP ultrawide lens (f/2.4, 16mm) supports three focal lengths — 16mm, 24mm, and 48mm — for versatile shooting options.

More power: With the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD), the smartphone balances performance and efficiency. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that is good for up to two days of use. Sony has also future-proofed the device with up to four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, surpassing industry standards for mid-range phones.

Priced at S$689, the Xperia 10 VII is ideal for those looking for a durable, multimedia-focused smartphone with professional-grade camera controls and long-term software support. Its combination of a high-refresh OLED display, physical shutter button and extended update policy makes it an option to consider in the mid-range segment.
