Tri-fold Huawei Mate XT finally lands in Singapore

It’s been a long time coming but the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is now finally available in Singapore.

The tri-fold smartphone was previously only available in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Here’s what makes the smartphone special:

World’s largest and thinnest foldable display: The Huawei Mate XT features a stunning 10.2-inch display when fully unfolded, making it the largest in the foldable market. When opened, the device measures just 3.6mm thin.

Versatile tri-fold design: Users can toggle among single (6.4-inch), dual (7.9-inch) and full triple screen (10.2-inch) modes for a seamless transition for everything from calls to immersive viewing and intensive multitasking. The advanced hinge system ensures smooth and balanced folding action.

Premium photography: Equipped with Huawei XMAGE imaging, the Mate XT sports a 10-size adjustable physical aperture for capturing a wide range of images — from wide landscapes to detailed close-ups. Its Star Diamond camera module combines sophisticated design with cutting-edge optics, while ultra-thin aerospace-grade leather in black or red adds a touch of luxury.

Limitation

A caveat is that the device runs on Huawei’s EMUI 14.2 for global markets, which is built off an Android 12 core but does not include Google Mobile Services by default.

Users cannot natively access the Google Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, or Google Maps through official channels and need to rely on workarounds.

Recommendation

Exuding luxury, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is ideal for professionals who multi-task extensively, tech enthusiasts keen on leading-edge innovations, and those with the cash to splash on a premium device that excels in productivity and entertainment.

Content creators and avid photographers will appreciate the versatile display modes and robust imaging capabilities, while style-conscious users will enjoy the design details and craftsmanship.

Availability in Singapore

Singapore residents can pre-order the device starting October 9, with retail prices beginning at S$3,498 and exclusive early bird offers through official Huawei channels. The phone will be available for direct purchase at Huawei Experience Stores and major online retailers from October 16.
