Grab, headquartered in Singapore, is piloting a high-accuracy GPS positioning system to improved location and navigation accuracy of GrabMaps in Singapore.
Aimed to enhance the navigation experience for both driver and delivery partners in Singapore, this pilot programme is rolled out in collaboration with Oppo, Qualcomm Technologies and Swift Navigation. This partnership marks the first deployment of high-accuracy GPS positioning on both mobile phones and application integration in Southeast Asia, enhancing map accuracy for Grab partners in outdoor locations.
Using cutting-edge, lane-level GPS, Grab tackles the issue of navigating Singapore’s densely packed urban areas where tall buildings and underground tunnels often interfere with regular GPS signals. This partnership provides industry-leading accuracy for driver- and delivery-partners to confidently weave through even the toughest spots in the city. The pilot leverages OPPO Dual Frequency GNSS mobile hardware, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform for real-time correction and Swift Navigation Skylark cloud positioning—all critical components of the GrabMaps next-gen ecosystem.
That means faster pickups and drop-offs for consumers, fewer missed turns and better ETA estimates. It is part of Grab’s broader ambition to provide the most seamless, reliable and accessible everyday services via a mobile-first platform powered by localisation, AI and data in Southeast Asia.
The pilot was launched in October 2025 and is now being trialled by close to 250 select driver- and delivery-partners in Singapore, including about 60 who have been sponsored with the OPPO Find N5 foldable devices by Grab and OPPO.
