Singapore Motorshow 2026 kicks off with loads of EV unveilings

Singapore Motorshow 2026 opened its doors at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on January 8 with many new makes and models launched.

From entry level electric vehicles to supercars, visitors will be treated to a wide array of metallic eye candy at the show.

In a period when COE prices are near all-time highs, the lowest priced car spotted was the standard variant of the GAC’s AION UT at S$141,988, inclusive of COE and factoring in a limited-time S$3,000 cash discount.

Thrilling the performance crowd, the Hypetec SSR supercar from GAC boasts a 1.9-second 0-100 kph acceleration.

Running through January 11, 2026, across 21,000 sqm on Levels 6, 4, 3, and Level 1 Atrium, the show features 37 brands and more than 200 vehicles, over 80 percent of which are electric or hybrid to align with Singapore’s cleaner energy goals. They range from AVATR’s debut 07 SUV and limited-edition 012 to DEEPAL’s S05 and S07, XPENG’s G6 Air and P7 sedan, and NIO’s right-hand-drive firefly hatchback.

Luxury debuts include Volvo’s ES90 EV, Audi’s third-gen Q3, BMW Vision Neue Klasse X concept, and Mercedes-Benz CLA in electric and petrol variants with AI-driven MB.OS.

Chinese marques such as BYD’s Tai 7 preview, Zeekr 9X, and Proton e.MAS 7 Cat A variant cater to COE-sensitive buyers, while Japanese brands like Subaru Solterra EV, Toyota bZ4X BEV and Suzuki e Vitara push electrification.

Entry tickets cost S$10 via SISTIC (free for kids under 1.2m). Every ticket holder enters to win an all-electric Dongfeng Box, Singapore’s top-selling EV hatchback with frameless doors and auto-parking, to be drawn on January 11.
