Melbourne to host global AI and data centre events

Melbourne will host Data Center World and AI Summit for the first time in Australia.

To be held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in September, the co-located events are expected to attract more than1,000 delegates. The twin events form part of Informa Connect’s global series, which also takes place in the United States, the United Kingdom and Asia.

Victoria holds Australia’s largest cluster of AI companies and 40 operational data centres, supported by the government’s Sustainable Data Centre Action Plan aimed at unlocking A$25 billion in potential capital investment.

Tourism, Sport and Major Events Minister Steve Dimopoulos hailed the summit as a “major vote of confidence in Victoria’s thriving tech ecosystem,” while Economic Growth and Jobs Minister Danny Pearson said it showcased the state’s leadership in digital transformation.
