Secon and eGisec 2026 open with focus on AI-driven security trust

The 25th edition of Asia’s largest security exhibition, International Security Conference and Exhibition (Secon), launched today at Kintex in Goyang, South Korea.

It was held in conjunction with the 14th e-Government Information Security Fair (eGisec) under the theme Building Trust in the Age of AI.

The combined event, which covers both physical and digital security, highlights Korea’s booming security market, forecasted to reach US$7.15 billion in 2026, of which the cybersecurity sector is projected to hit US$2.72 billion this year.

Persistent cybersecurity incidents drive demand for robust defenses in Korea’s security landscape. AI serves as both a weapon for threats and a key defense mechanism, reshaping industry strategies. Strengthened regulations and policies, coupled with efforts to restore trust in security and AI technologies, define current trends.

The expo has attracted 412 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions, spanning physical security, cybersecurity and integrated solutions. Conferences feature 32 tracks and 159 sessions, covering AI risks, policy updates and real-world applications.

More than 30,000 visitors are expected through March 20. Secon and eGisec are managed by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT, and Ministry of the Interior and Safety respectively.
