In a move to counteract the shrinking window between vulnerability discovery and active exploitation, Tenable Holdings has introduced the Tenable Hexa AI agentic orchestration engine to automate the heavy lifting of modern cybersecurity.
Announced at RSA Conference 2026, the new engine integrates into the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. It moves beyond simple AI-assisted detection to a model where autonomous agents proactively coordinate and execute remediation workflows across fragmented digital environments.
The launch addresses a critical bottleneck in security operations, where the explosion of AI-driven attacks and expanding attack surfaces have left human teams struggling to keep pace.
“As AI-based attacks accelerate, the window from discovery to exploitation has effectively vanished,” said Eric Doerr (top), Chief Product Officer of Tenable.
Leveraging Tenable’s exposure data fabric lets Hexa AI identify how vulnerabilities, identities and assets interact to determine the most critical risks. Insted of just flagging these issues, the engine orchestrates a series of out-of-the-box and custom agents to perform multi-step fixes at machine speed to effectively neutralise exposures before they can be weaponised by threat actors.
Currently available through a private customer and partner programme, Tenable Hexa AI is expected to reach general availability later this year.
