ExpressVPN launches privacy-first platform

ExpressVPN has launched the ExpressAI AI platform that lets users leverage the power of advanced AI tools without the usual privacy concerns.

This private-by-design service tackles head-on the growing unease over AI platforms feeding personal data into their training pipelines.

With zero-access encryption, neither ExpressVPN nor third parties can view user prompts, chats or uploaded files. Built on confidential computing enclaves, it processes data in isolated, cryptographically secure environments while explicitly barring any user inputs from model training.

The launch is timely with increasing everyday AI use for tasks such as drafting emails or summarising sensitive documents exposes financial details, health queries and work files to potential exploitation.

“The best way to protect user data is not to collect it in the first place. With our enclave architecture, your messages exist in a secure, isolated environment that even we can’t access. This is the future of reliable, private AI,” said Shay Peretz, COO of ExpressVPN.

Privacy concerns in AI training have escalated, with platforms such as ChatGPT often scraping web data or retaining user interactions to refine models, risking leaks or perpetual profiling.

ExpressAI counters this with user-controlled features like ghost mode for auto-deleting chats, an encrypted vault unlocked only by your password, and independent audits by Cure53 confirming its security claims after rigorous testing.

For users, ExpressAI gives the assurance that AI can be powerful without being predatory, setting a benchmark as confidential computing democratises true data sovereignty.
