AMD has announced the Ryzen AI Max Series, Ryzen AI 300 Series and Ryzen 200 Series processors, each tailored to meet the growing demand for AI-enabled devices across consumer and commercial sectors.
As the flagship offering, the Ryzen AI Max Series processors comes with up to 16 “Zen 5” CPU cores, 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 graphics compute units, and an AMD XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of up to 50 TOPS of AI processing power.
These processors are engineered to deliver workstation-level performance in ultra-portable form factors, making them suitable for gamers, creators and professionals who require computing capabilities on the go.
For the commercial market, AMD has integrated its PRO Technologies into the Ryzen AI Max PRO, Ryzen AI 300 PRO and Ryzen 200 PRO Series. These enterprise-grade processors feature advanced security and manageability tools, designed to streamline IT operations and protect against sophisticated cyber threats.
“With the next generation of AI-enabled processors, we are proliferating AI to devices everywhere, and bringing the power of a workstation to thin and light laptops,” said said Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Computing and Graphics Group at AMD.
Major OEM partners, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, and ASUS, have announced plans to incorporate AMD’s new processors into their upcoming AI-powered PCs and workstations.
Systems featuring the new Ryzen AI Max and Ryzen AI 300 Series processors are expected to hit the market in Q1 2025, with Ryzen 200 Series-equipped devices following in Q2 2025.
