F5 adds AI assistant for network and security teams

F5 has introduced an AI-powered assistant to empower SecOps and NetOps teams with greater insights into network activity and improved control over security measures.

Integrated into F5 Distributed Cloud Services, the AI assistant leverages event data from F5’s extensive global network, equipping teams to streamline app oversight, manage complex tasks efficiently, and maintain a robust security posture.

“More than ever, SecOps and NetOps teams require the right tools to ensure they are on top of threats to their network. Our AI assistant has been built around their needs,” said Pranav Dharwadkar, VP of Product Management at F5.

The AI assistant features customisable queries for analysing site health and security posture across multi-cloud deployments, on-demand advanced summaries of security events ranked by attack style and risk, and accelerated response to zero-day threats. It also provides actionable recommendations for swift threat identification and mitigation, as well as automation of routine security and networking tasks to improve operational efficiency.

Powered by the F5 AI Data Fabric and featuring a natural language interface, it is accessible directly from the console for existing F5 Distributed Cloud Services users.

“We recognise how stretched network and security teams currently are and the AI assistant will serve as an intelligent partner for them. This can help to reduce response times from days to minutes, ensuring that critical assets are protected, and breaches are swiftly addressed,” said Dharwadkar.
