Sophos has completed its acquisition of Secureworks for US$859 million. The deal brings together two global cybersecurity pioneers to create a powerhouse that now supports more 28,000 enterprises worldwide.
The combined entity will feature hundreds of built-in integrations for adaptive protection, detection and response to mitigate cyberattacks. Enterprises with diverse IT estates will benefit from the open and scalable platform, which helps safeguard current and future technology investments while providing greater operational efficiencies and return on cybersecurity spend.
Sophos X-Ops is expanding its threat intelligence and security services capabilities by incorporating the Secureworks Counter Threat Unit and security operations and advisory teams.
“Sophos is differentiated by our very mature competencies in ransomware detection, malware analysis and threat actor tradecraft. With the integration of Secureworks, our expanded services and product portfolio will provide even stronger end-to-end security solutions that will include identity threat detection and response, next-gen SIEM and managed risk, all in a single open platform,” said Joe Levy (top), CEO of Sophos.

Sophos remains committed to its channel-first strategy, aiming to empower its global community of resellers, managed service providers and managed security services providers. It plans to expand its reach, enhance operational scalability and provide stronger defenses against constant and complex cyberattacks.
In the near term, both Sophos and Secureworks will continue to operate as usual, working with their respective channel partners to distribute existing security services and technology. The sales and customer experience groups of both companies will support existing customers, assist with renewals and develop new business opportunities.
