Baidu is making its Ernie Bot free of charge to all users from April 1.
Users will have full access to the latest Ernie foundation models on both desktop and mobile versions of the app.
They will be able to use all the AI chatbot’s advanced features, including extended document processing, enhanced professional search capabilities, advanced AI painting, and multilingual conversation.
Ernie Bot also launched the Deep Search extended thinking function with enhanced capabilities in thinking, planning and tool-calling, delivering expert-level content responses across multiple scenarios. The highly versatile capabiliity supports multi-modal input and output.
Current users can now access this function on Ernie Bot’s official website with mobile availability soon. Deep Search will also be available for free starting April 1.
Ernie Bot has proven to be highly popular since its launch in 2023. It has built up a user base of 430 million, with the daily average API calls of the Ernie foundation model exceeding 1.5 billion, a 30-fold increase compared to 2023.
