AWS opens innovation hub in Singapore

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has opened in Singapore its first Innovation Hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

The 8,000-square-foot AWS Innovation Hub aims to catalyse digital transformation for enterprises of all sizes with its dedicated space for collaboration, experimentation and the rapid prototyping of next-generation technologies

CEOs and business leaders will be able to interact with AWS and Amazon-wide technologies, and explore more than 30 partner solutions across 50 real-world customer use cases for cloud technology. AWS aims to connect with more than 1,000 C-suite executives and business decision-makers at the hub, focusing on innovation driven by cloud and generative AI technologies.

AWS Innovation Hub will serve as a regional epicentre for cloud and AI advancement where companies can co-create solutions tailored to their unique challenges.

“The AWS Innovation Hub empowers our customers to convert big ideas into real business outcomes by combining our comprehensive cloud and AI technology, proven expertise from our network of over 140,000 partners worldwide, and Amazon’s unique culture of innovation,” said Jaime Vallés, Vice President of AWS Asia Pacific & Japan. “

“Here at the Hub, our customers can build practical roadmaps to solve the region’s most pressing challenges and opportunities in collaboration with AWS. From smart farming and personalised retail to emergency response and digitalised citizen services – the opportunities are endless,” he added.

For Asia-Pacific enterprises, the launch of this hub holds particular significance in light of the mounting pressure to innovate and remain agile, and the ability to leverage cloud and AI technologies.

Enterprises can explore new digital business models, enhance operational efficiencies and deliver more personalised customer experiences.

Expected to play a pivotal role in upskilling local talent, the hub will offer an exclusive learning experience to 200 students from Singapore’s tertiary institutions annually.

The multi-million-dollar facility is on top of AWS’ previously announced US$9 billion commitment to developing cloud infrastructure in Singapore by 2028.
