Lenovo leads global PC market growth in 2025

Global PC shipments rose 9.2 percent to 279.5 million units in 2025, propelled by leaders such as Lenovo and HP amid sustained replacement demand, according to Omdia.

Lenovo topped the market with 70.9 million units and 25.4 percent share, up 14.6 percent year-over-year, while HP shipped 57.4 million for 20.6 percent share. Dell, Apple and Asus completed the top five, with Apple showing the strongest growth at 16.4 percent.

The tightening of memory and storage supply, however, is putting pressure on PC prices.

“Between Q1 to Q4 2025, mainstream PC memory and storage costs rose by 40 to 70 percent, resulting in cost increases being passed through to customers. Given tight 2026 supply, the industry is emphasizing high-end SKUs and leaner mid to low-tier configurations to protect margins,” said Ben Yeh, Principal Analyst of Omdia.

“In 2026, with device replacement demand not yet fully abated, supply-side pressures will be more pronounced and supply will not fully meet demand. Actual shipment performance will hinge on vendors’ memory and storage procurement and negotiating leverage; beyond scale, their track records and credibility with suppliers will be a decisive factor,” he added.
