StarHub and Nokia unlock 5G potential with network API partnership

StarHub has teamed up with Nokia to leverage network APIs and create new revenue opportunities for its customers.

The collaboration aims to support developers in creating innovative 5G and 4G applications for industries such as banking, finance and ports.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform will provide developers with standardised access to StarHub’s network capabilities. The platform’s developer portal will enable the creation of software applications that seamlessly work across StarHub’s 5G and 4G networks, simplifying the process for developers who no longer need to navigate complex underlying network technologies.

“We are pleased to deepen our partnership with Nokia to deliver a simplified and improved developer experience. Giving developers access to a wider selection of attractive network APIs is critical to unlocking the full value of 5G and 4G networks in Singapore and the wider region,” said Ayush Sharma (top), CTO of StarHub.

“Nokia’s approach to network APIs reflects a strategic focus of driving new business models and unlocking the potential that 5G and 4G networks can deliver from the perspective of innovation, sustainability, collaboration, and productivity,” said Shkumbin Hamiti, Head of Network Monetization Platform, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform is designed to connect multiple API ecosystems, offering operators a wide range of network exposure options. With robust multi-tier API security, the platform ensures that operators of all sizes can provide developers with simplified access to network functionalities, paving the way for innovative applications and services.
