Amazon Echo laughter freaks users

While laughter is said to be the best medicine, it can send chills down the spines of hearers, as in the case of the mysterious laughter coming from Amazon Echo.

It seems that some users have heard strange laughter coming from their smart speakers, leading them to switch off the devices.

The phenomena has been attributed to the device mishearing commands but some users said the laughs came about even when no command was given.

In response, Amazon will change disable the phrase, “Alexa, laugh,” and change it to “Alexa, can you laugh?”.

Thankfully, a quick test on the Google Home did not yield the same result. So, there’s no fear of Google giggling suddenly.
