Parler back on App Store

After a four-month suspension, Parler has returned to App Store following some tweaks to meet Apple’s requirements.

It is a welcome move for the social media platform, which was removed from App Store after the January 6 riot.

The changes include making posts labelled as “hate” by the app’s new artificial intelligence moderation system invisible on iOS devices. However, Parler is discussing with Apple on the viability of adding a warning label so that users can decide if they want to see the post.

“The entire Parler team has worked hard to address Apple’s concerns without compromising our core mission. Anything allowed on the Parler network but not in the iOS app will remain accessible through our web-based and Android versions. This is a win-win for Parler, its users, and free speech,” said Marck Meckler, Interim CEO of Parler.
