Japan, India and Singapore are the top threee most sleep deprived nations in the world, according to a study. Thankfully, help is on its way for those who want to sleep better. Sleep platform Sleeprate is collaborating with Garmin on a mobile self-help sleep assessment and improvement program that aims to help consumers sleep better, track their recovery, and optimise workouts.Using health and activity data gleaned from Garmin wearable devices, consumers should gain a deeper and more accurate look at how physical performance and sleep are related. They will get deeper insights on what is happening while they are sleeping and e-coaching on how to fix their poor sleep habits.
According to Dr Anda Baharav, CEO and Founder of Sleeprate, this new integration will allow Sleeprate to give consumers better insight on how their individual exercise habits are affecting their sleep and create customised behavioural goals to realign the body’s internal clock for a better night’s sleep.
“One of the most important elements of overall health is sufficient and quality sleep. People can exercise and eat healthy, but if they don’t get enough quality sleep then they won’t get the full benefits of the workout,” he added.
“The Companion SDK used by Sleeprate will allow consumers to get a deeper understanding of how exercise and sleep influence each other, providing an engaging solution that helps address sleep difficulties,” said Sean McNamara, Manager of Garmin Health.
