Citycare Property has transformed its human resource (HR) operations by deploying the Boomi Enterprise Platform to streamline onboarding and improve data accuracy across its nationwide workforce.
With more than 1,000 employees, the New Zealand social infrastructure company operates from multiple offices and depots across major cities including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Dunedin, supporting 24/7 delivery of property maintenance, parks management and community infrastructure services.
As the company expanded, its HR processes became increasingly complex, particularly after implementing a new HRIS that was not fully integrated with payroll and IT systems. This resulted in delays in onboarding, inconsistent employee data and a reliance on manual workarounds that slowed down operations.
“Onboarding a new hire, setting up their account, and getting them active in our systems used to eat up days of work. Prior to doing the integrations, visibility into where someone was in the process wasn’t always straightforward,” said Adam Doocey, CIO of Citycare Property.
To address these challenges, Citycare engaged Adaptiv to implement Boomi’s integration and data management capabilities.
The solution centred on creating a unified employee data hub using Boomi Data Hub, supported by Boomi Integration to synchronise information seamlessly across HR, payroll and IT platforms. The employee‑centred integration strategy ensured that every change in the employee lifecycle — from onboarding to role transitions to offboarding — was automatically reflected across all connected systems, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
Immediate impact
The impact was immediate and significant. Citycare reduced onboarding times, improved data quality and gained visibility into processes that were previously opaque.
Staff no longer needed to manually reconcile data across systems, and new hires experienced a smoother, more efficient introduction to the organisation.
“Boomi has given us a degree of visibility that we’ve never had before. We’ve seen an improvement in the time it takes to get an employee from registering in our HR system to being active across all of our systems. We’ve also seen a real lift in data quality in the downstream systems,” said Doocey.
“Historically, when issues arose, staff would often work around them by manually adjusting the data. Implementing Boomi has put an end to that practice,” he added.
By modernising its integration architecture, Citycare Property has built a scalable foundation that supports future growth, strengthens data governance, and enhances the employee experience across its distributed teams.
“Citycare Property has proven that putting the employee at the centre of your integration strategy delivers real, measurable results for the entire organisation. In partnership with Adaptiv, Boomi is proud to support Citycare’s workforce modernisation and provide the data foundation that keeps their operations running smoothly,” said David Irecki, Chief Technology Officer of APJ at Boomi.
