NVIDIA and IREN in massive AI infrastructure push

NVIDIA and IREN have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate deployment of up to five gigawatts of AI infrastructure.

The collaboration leverages IREN’s AI cloud platform, powered by NVIDIA’s advanced GPUs, to deliver high-performance computing for enterprise AI workloads. IREN provides grid-connected sites with renewable energy to enable rapid deployment of large-scale GPU clusters. This highlights the shift toward power-optimised, liquid-cooled facilities essential for next-gen AI systems, potentially setting new benchmarks for efficiency and speed-to-market.

The multi-year deal aims to accelerate AI infrastructure buildout to address increasing demand for compute-intensive applications such as training large language models and generative AI.

“AI factories are becoming foundational infrastructure for the global economy. Deploying these systems at scale requires deep integration across the full stack — compute, networking, software, power and operations,” said Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

“This partnership combines NVIDIA’s AI systems and architecture leadership with IREN’s expertise across power, land, data centres, GPU deployment and infrastructure operations. Together, we believe we can accelerate deployment of AI infrastructure and expand access to compute for AI-native and enterprise customers globally,” said Daniel Roberts, Co-founder and Co-CEO of IREN.

Under the partnership, NVIDIA will also invest up to US$2.1 billion in IREN.
