Vertiv has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia in a major expansion of its regional production capabilities as demand for AI and high‑density digital infrastructure accelerates across Asia.
The 236,000‑square‑foot site in Senai strengthens Vertiv’s ability to deliver power, cooling and integrated infrastructure systems with greater speed, scale and regional resilience.
It is designed to support customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand with closer‑to‑market manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment services.
“As compute requirements evolve across multiple generations of AI infrastructure, customers need partners to provide power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions at scale,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “The Johor facility enhances our ability to help customers deploy critical digital infrastructure more efficiently while supporting long-term growth across Asia.”
The Johor site will manufacture large‑scale thermal management, power and prefabricated infrastructure solutions for both AI and traditional data centre environments. They include Vertiv CoolChip coolant distribution units for liquid cooling, Vertiv Power Module and Power Skid prefabricated power systems, and the SmartRun integrated overhead infrastructure system, which can accelerate on‑site deployment by up to 85 percent compared with traditional methods.
Vertiv has also built dedicated flushing and validation environments to meet the cleanliness and performance requirements of high‑density liquid cooling systems, along with testing environments capable of validating CDUs, power modules, and skids under real‑world conditions before deployment. The facility operates under Vertiv’s global quality management standards and ISO‑compliant processes.
When fully operational in 2027, the site is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs.
Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss, CEO of Invest Johor, said Vertiv’s investment underscores Johor’s emergence as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. “What is especially meaningful is the creation of high‑value jobs, opportunities for local talent development, and stronger industry capabilities that will benefit Johor over the long term,” he said.
