NVIDIA has launched its GeForce 800M line-up of notebook GPUs that deliver up to 60 percent performance improvement over the previous generation.

The new mobile GPUs sport a multitude of new features designed just for gamers, first of which is NVIDIA Battery Boost, which delivers up to double the gaming battery life.

Instead of pushing every notebook component to its max, Battery Boost targets a user defined frame rate, such as 30 FPS. The driver level governor takes over and operates all system components, including CPU, GPU, and memory at peak efficiency, while maintaining a smooth, playable experience.

Next is GeForce ShadowPlay, a new feature in GeForce Experience that lets gamers capture high-quality in-game footage or broadcast their gaming exploits to Twitch.TV, all with virtually no performance impact.

Notebook support for GameStream enable smooth streaming of PC games over WiFi to a GameStream ready device, such as NVIDIA SHIELD.

A new generation of thinner, more powerful gaming notebooks featuring the new GeForce 800M series include the Gigabyte P35R, Lenovo Y50, MSI GS 60, MSI GS 70, and Razer Blade. Featuring the top end GeForce GTX 880M are the likes of the Alienware 17, Asus G750JZ, MSI GT 70, and MSI GT 60.
