2G in Singapore to end in 2017

Singapore’s three telcos will stop providing 2G services from April 2017. The spectrum will then be freed for advanced 4G services as the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore moves to make more efficient use of the limited resources. According to IDA, there are a quarter million 2G mobile users today but they form only three percent of total mobile subscriptions.
