Another major tech event has fallen victim to the coronavirus pandemic. Even before registration has begun, Microsoft has axed the Inspire 2020 partner conference in Las Vegas from July 19 to 23.
In an updated blogpost on Inspire 2020, Microsoft announced that it would not be holding the “in-person event” in light of health safety recommendations from public health authorities.
“We are exploring alternative ways to bring our partner community together to connect and learn. Stay tuned for more details to come,” wrote Microsoft.
It’s possible that Microsoft may take the route of other tech events, such as NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC), by holding the conference online.
Past Inspire editions have drawn about 18,000 participants who gathered to hear Microsoft announce new products, as well as to network, learn and collaborate with others.
