Telstra minimises network and technology complexities.
Telstra has centralised and automated its network operations with Nokia’s EdenNet Self-Organising Network (SON) software.
SON software removes the complexity of managing multi-technology and multi-layered networks. It will automate the Australia telco’s radio access network (RAN) configuration management to improve network performance and efficiency that support the increased demands of 5G.
Telstra will roll out the solution on its multi-vendor, nation-wide 3G, 4G and 5G RAN.
improving reliability, lowering cost
According to Ashley Hunter, Network Engineering Executive of Telstra, EdenNet SON solution will help enable the telco to automate its network configuration and operations to improve cycle time, repeatability, reliability, and cost.
“Nokia’s Open SON framework APIs hide the complexity of the underlying network, allowing Telstra to focus on automating the configuration of our network to help provide greater reliability, faster speeds and peace of mind for our customers,” he added.
“Nokia was the obvious partner thanks to our EdenNet SON, which allows Telstra engineers to customise and automate network configurations in a cost effective and timely manner.” said Vishal Singh, Senior Vice President of Nokia Software.
