Facebook’s Watch Party, which lets users watch videos together, will become history on April 16, 2021. No reason was given for the removal of this feature, which was introduced in 2018.
Watch Party comes in handy during the COVID-19 pandemic when many people stayed at home and watched videos together online.
In a simple email bereft of explanation, Facebook wrote, “We are sending you this email because you have previously hosted a watch party on Facebook. We would like to inform you that starting from 16 April 2021, Watch Party will no longer be available on Facebook. This means that you will no longer be able to create or view watch parties across Pages, profiles or groups, and all previous watch parties will no longer be available to rewatch.”
It goes on to share how to download past Watch Party posts or comments, which will be available till April 15, 2021.
