Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group has installed a NVIDIA DGX A100 system to power its research and development (R&D) on technologies and products using AI and data analysis.
Its Viettel Cyber Center (VTCC) unit is using the system on areas such as speech processing, natural language processing, optical character recognition, and a database of user profiles. A key project is the Viettel AI Open Platform for conducting advanced research and applying Al to products and services to create comprehensive solutions and ensure that everyone and every business in Vietnam can access Al.
According to Nguyen Manh Quy, Director of Viettel Cyber Space Center, the company is NVIDIA DGX A100 to build more complex models with faster AI teaching times to solve challenging problems.
“The problem is the increasingly vast amount of data that is beyond the capacity of our existing system. NVIDIA DGX A100 helps us to reduce effort, time and implementation costs while achieving optimal work results,” he said.
Designed to handle all AI and data science workloads, the system will increase VTCC’s computing power, allowing it to test larger models with significantly more accuracy.
Computer vision and natural language processing are about 20 to 60 percent faster than before. VTCC can train speech recognition systems with more patterns for larger AI models, accelerating the model training process.
VTCC is also adopting NVIDIA platforms and software development kits such as NVIDIA Metropolis for smart cities, NVIDIA Jarvis for multimodal conversational AI services, NVIDIA Nemo for developing state-of-the-art conversational AI models and NVIDIA Clara for supercharging the next generation of medical devices and biomedical research.
