Synology has given more oomph to ActiveProtect Manager (APM) by expanding backup and recovery across key cloud, virtualisation, and SaaS environments while adding AI-driven threat detection for stronger cyber-resiliency.
Designed for enterprises that need broader coverage and faster recovery across mixed IT estates, APM 2.0 provides added support for Azure Virtual Machines, Amazon EC2, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, and Google Workspace. It also enables cross-platform VM restores to cloud or on-premises environments to give IT teams more flexibility in disaster recovery planning and redeployment.
As cybersecurity continues to be a key priority for enterprises, ARM 2.0’s key benefit is the shift from reactive recovery to proactive defence.
“AI has turned cyber threats into a force enterprises can no longer outpace, driving organisations to seek data protection that is both dependable and accessible,” said Philip Wong, Chairman and CEO of Synology.
The system uses machine learning to spot abnormal backup patterns such as unusual change rates, mass deletions and entropy spikes, then quarantines affected files before they can be restored.
APM 2.0 is scheduled for release in Q3.
