ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has achieved new expansion milestones at its Jakarta campus.
STT Jakarta 2 has begun operations with 24MW of IT load, while STT Jakarta 3 has topped out, and STT Jakarta 5 and 6 will each add 40MW in the next phase.
The campus is backed by an on-site high-voltage substation, described as the first energised for a data centre campus in Indonesia, to improve power reliability and speed delivery from generation to IT load.
The development is designed for high-density AI workloads, with data halls prepared for NVIDIA Vera Rubin and Vera Rubin Ultra platforms and ready for liquid cooling.
“Indonesia is one of Southeast Asia’s most important digital infrastructure markets, driven by accelerating demand for cloud and AI. This expansion reflects our conviction in this country’s long-term growth and our commitment to delivering the scale, resilience and readiness required to support Indonesia’s next phase of digital development,” said Bruno Lopez, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of STT GDC.
The company is working with PLN on a renewable energy strategy aimed at enabling carbon-neutral operations from day one.
Beyond infrastructure, the expansion includes talent and community initiatives, such as partnerships with ATMI Cikarang, hands-on training programmes and internships for students entering the data centre sector.
STT GDC has also embarked on local community support efforts in Cikarang, including a badminton facility and mangrove planting programmes.
