Hyundai Motor Company will be digitalising the smart factory at Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore (HMGICS) with TeamViewer’s augmented reality (AR) platform.
The platform will support assembly, maintenance, quality management, logistics, client experience projects, and workforce training.
It will drive increased productivity, accuracy, speed, and safety of frontline production workers.
Both companies parties will pursue global joint marketing of smart factory and enterprise AR technology. They will also embark on joint research and development activities in AR-powered smart factory operations, immersive digital experience for frontline workers and AI support for a future automotive factory.
“Developing an intelligent manufacturing platform is an important part of Hyundai’s strategy to lead the future mobility industry. We are continuously innovating the overall mobility value chain, which includes presenting a vision for a future mobility smart factory,” said Hong Bum Jung, Chief Executive Officer of HMGICS.
The S$400 million HMGICS, which occupies 44,000 square metres in Jurong Innovation District, should be ready by end 2022. It expects to produce up to 30,000 vehicles annually by 2025.
