With the pandemic forcing many to work from home and most forms of entertainment resticted, gaming has grown in popularity, creating a boom for gaming PCs and peripherals.

If online service usage was not already the norm before COVID-19 struck, it will certainly be post-pandemic as nearly half of respondents (45 percent) to a ForgeRock survey plan to consumer more online services post-pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps more than any other event in human history, has pushed people towards digital. New research from Facebook and Bain & Company shows that Southeast Asia will be home to 310 million digital consumers by the end of this year, reaching a number previously forecasted for 2025.

More than eight in 10 C-level executives expect the changes made in people, processes and applications as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic to become permanent.

The pandemic has steered many organisations towards using video technology out of necessity. According to a study commissioned by Milestone Systems, eight in 10 Singaporeans are receptive to the usage of video technology, such as thermal imagining cameras and crowd management video analytics, when underpinned by a health benefit.

Despite the pandemic and resulting economic crisis, the worldwide PC and tablet market is expected to grow by 3.3 percent to 425.7 million units in 2020, according to IDC.

India’s country-wide lockdown drove everyone to work from home. While this does not augur well for the economy, the move drove sales of enterprise notebooks up by a record 105.5 percent in Q2, according to IDC.
